SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 4 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the Cabildo, Pedro Martín, announced this Thursday in the municipality of El Tanque the start-up, for 650,000 euros, of the construction and start-up of the future Regional School of Hospitality.
This infrastructure will be dedicated to professional training in Hospitality and Catering, and will offer specialized training, regulated and non-regulated, in this subsector to unemployed people in the Daute-Isla Baja region, which includes the municipalities of Buenavista, Garachico, Los Silos and El Tanque.
“It is absolutely necessary to support training, but promoting the regions, not being the result of a capricious distribution of sympathies or affinities, and for us it is essential that this region can count on employability alternatives,” said the president.
The mayor of El Tanque, Esther Morales, received the island president on Thursday morning, accompanied by the third vice president and counselor for Social Action, Marian Franquet, the counselor for Employment, Socioeconomic Development and Foreign Action, Carmen Luz Baso, and the Minister of Municipal Cooperation and Housing, Zebenzui Chinea, who held a meeting with part of the municipal government team.
Morales highlighted the presentation of “two major projects” thanks to the collaboration of the Cabildo de Tenerife and the “trust” of Pedro Martín and Marián Franquet “for remembering this region and allowing it to develop in terms of training, and therefore grow in opportunities for job”.
12 MORE LARGER PLACES
On the other hand, Martín indicated that the El Tanque Geriatric Residence joins, for the first time, the Cabildo agreement with the Autonomous Community in terms of dependency and promotion of autonomy, which has allowed the creation of 12 new places to serve older people who need it.
“It was not reasonable that in Tenerife there were public centers with concerted places and others not, as if there were first-rate people and second-rate people. That is why we had to reach everyone, especially in an area as sensitive as is that of our elders and dependent people “, indicated Martín.
In this regard, the Minister of Social Action, Marian Franquet, indicated that “finally” it can be said that El Tanque has places arranged by the Cabildo de Tenerife.
“It is the first time that it has public concerted places, which is very significant. There are more than half of the places, twenty, twelve: ten residential places and two during the day,” he said.
The president also detailed the investments that the Cabildo is carrying out in the municipality, including 234,872 euros for the implementation of an employment project, the occupational center for people with disabilities that is financed from the IASS through the dependency agreement and promotion of autonomy, or improvements in forest fire infrastructures in Erjos or San José de los Llanos, among others.
