The renovation work of the Radazul Bajo water network will begin tomorrow. In this first phase of the works, Juan Sebastián Elcano Street will be closed to traffic for its first 400 meters of route, between the access roundabout to Radazul Bajo from the South Highway (TF-1) to the Juan Sebastián Elcano confluence with Magallanes street, and is expected to take place over the next three weeks. The alternative route to enter and exit Radazul Bajo will be through Valdés street.
The City Council of El Rosario recently hosted a coordination meeting, chaired by the mayor of El Rosario, Escolástico Gil, and which was attended by the second deputy mayor, Fidel Vázquez, the councilors of Works and Hydraulic Services, Juan Jesús del Rosario and Miguel Ángel Yanes, respectively, representatives of the UTE in charge of the work, the technical engineer of Public Works of the Consistory and agents of the Local Police.
In this meeting, the different phases of the project were put on the table, which will be previously communicated to the public, in order to organize the different stages of the work, analyze the alternatives to road traffic in each one of them and harmonize the necessary access of residents to their homes in those streets that are being the object of the action.
The mayor of El Rosario appreciated the importance of this project, which benefits from an investment of 1.4 million euros, and which is “fundamental to improve the water cycle and leave behind the breakdowns of the hydraulic network and the waste that they entail, the lack of pressure in the homes and the water cuts ”, he emphasized.
The first mayor acknowledged that the works will cause inconvenience to residents, “but it is the only way to stop patching the pipes and completely renew our hydraulic system to make it efficient and provide a quality service to citizens,” he explained.
In this first phase of the work, only residents of Magallanes and Oquendo streets and the affected section of Juan Sebastián Elcano will be able to travel on the road, solely and exclusively, to enter and leave their homes, for which, as the work is being executed, mobile plates will be installed to allow the access of the vehicles to their garages.
The project was awarded for an amount of 1,385,120 euros and an execution period of 15 months.
