SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct 31 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The lightning network of the State Meteorological Agency (aemet) recorded 16 volcanic rays in the volcanic plume of the Cumbre Vieja volcano yesterday between 09.48 and 22.23, as reported through its official Twitter account.
Volcanic rays are formed by friction between particles and imply a higher explosiveness, so that the plume acquires sufficient height. Of the total number of lightning strikes recorded, six were positive discharges and 3 were negative discharges.
