SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct 29 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Minister of Infrastructure, Borja Perdomo Hernández, has assumed the Vice-Presidency of the Island Council of La Palma since Friday after the resignation of the act of Director of José Adrián Hernández Montoya for personal reasons. Borja Perdomo continues to lead the Infrastructure area and assumes the spokesperson for the Socialist Group.
After the appointment took place, Borja Perdomo wanted to address his first words in gratitude and appreciation to his predecessor in office for “the great work that he has developed both at the head of the insular Vice Presidency and in relation to the primary sector of the island of La Palm”. “For our group and, in particular, for me, it has been a model of rigorous, honest work and dedicated to public service. It has set the bar very high,” he added.
Likewise, he wanted to thank both the Socialist Group and the Government team of the Island Council of La Palma for the “trust they have placed in me for this new responsibility, at a time when the Island is going through what is undoubtedly the most serious crisis of its history due to the volcanic eruption “.
Borja Perdomo stressed that “we are going to continue working with all the intensity to achieve the recovery of the island of La Palma as soon as possible, from the maximum unity, consensus and loyalty among all the administrations, as has been happening until now. An effort in which we are not going to give up an iota because we are aware, now more than ever, that La Palma is doing it for us “.
Along these lines, he has launched a message of “hope and confidence” to the island’s population and, especially, to the people who have been affected by the volcanic eruption. “I am aware of the enormous desolation and anguish that many neighbors of our island are experiencing in the face of this natural catastrophe that we are suffering, but be sure that you are not alone and we will do everything possible to overcome this situation as soon as possible “.
