
The Forest fire that was declared in the Tenerife municipality of Arico last May was finally extinguished this Wednesday, although had been taken for granted on May 24.
ANDthe end of this fire It has been possible thanks to the tireless work of more than 300 troops from different bodies and specialists in extinction, such as the forest brigades of Tenerife, as reported this afternoon by the Island Council.
In these five months of fire, 3,029 hectares of pine forest, rockrose, brooms, cuttings and broom have burned. Its about biggest forest fire happened on the island in 2021 and it remained without obtaining the condition of extinguished by the presence of some hot spots in its perimeter.
This fire was assumed by the Government of the Canary Islands on May 20, when it rose to level 2 given its virulence. However, on May 24, he passed to level 1, his management being assumed again by the Cabildo de Tenerife.
