The representatives of the practice of motocross in Tenerife want to open a youth school in Santa Cruz for the practice of this sport, which entails the creation of a circuit in the Southwest district, where they have acquired a plot for this purpose. This was confirmed yesterday to DIARIO DE AVISOS by the Urban Planning Councilor, Carlos Tarife, who explained that “it is a project that has been presented to the Management and that requires a provisional use license, but, in addition, it must include a study of environmental evaluation ”. Precisely, this last requirement has led the Management to propose to the Cabildo of Tenerife the signing of an agreement so that “the environmental body of the Cabildo, while the Santa Cruz is created, is in charge of analyzing the projects that carry this environmental assessment” .
“The project they have presented to us is for the creation of a motocross circuit in the Southwest, on land that is located above El Bicacaro street. There they would create a motocross nursery school ”, explained the mayor.
The proposal to sign the agreement will be raised by Tarife to the Cabildo de Tenerife in the meeting that will be held on November 11, in which, in addition, the request of the capital will be addressed so that the Special Plan of Las Teresitas be addressed by the Insular Corporation as a project of insular interest, as allowed by the Land Law. “We continue to believe that it is the best way, and the fastest, to address the improvements that the beach needs, without having to wait for the new General Plan to be completed.”
At this meeting, the last details of the Real Estate Catalog of the capital will also be closed. “We trust in obtaining the definitive approval of the catalog, once both institutions agree on the definitive list of properties to be included. If all goes well, we hope to have it initially approved before the end of the year ”, explained the mayor of Urbanism.
Finally, the meeting will also serve to address the expansion of the Historic Complex of Los Hoteles-Pino del Oro, in which the technicians of the Urban Planning Management do not share the criteria of the Cabildo that, after the previous expansion was canceled by the Courts have decided to start it again without waiting the two years that, in the opinion of the Santa Cruz technicians, they should have waited. “The council started the expansion of Los Hoteles, and my people think that it is badly done. I think that you have to sit down, to reach an agreement and avoid a conflict, because that extension to protect properties does not make sense, since if the property has values such as the Plaza de Toros, it would be within the extension that the Cabildo, the Cabildo has to report anyway. So I think it is not necessary to start a file wrong ”.
Tarife adds that he will also take the opportunity to ask for the opinion of the Cabildo’s Historical Heritage technicians on the projects presented to rehabilitate the Plaza de Toros, pending a technical meeting.
