“I have written verses since I was a child, as an outlet and for fun too. I read them to my grandmother, who always encouraged me to make these creations known. In the pandemic I have had more time to dedicate myself to writing and finally I have encouraged myself to publish ”, sums up the author. A reader of Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, her interest in science never prevented her from nurturing that love for poetry.

“I speak about what I feel, about my dreams. I’m talking about joys and sadness, ”adds Luisa Sabina, to whom an interest in culture runs in the family. Granddaughter of Santiago Sabina Corona, right now she is working on a little book in verse referring to her grandfather, the one who was a famous composer and director of the Canarian Chamber Orchestra, today the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra.

“My father, Santiago Sabina Sánchez, talked to me a lot about him because I asked him and the truth is that he had wanted to take on this job for a long time. “Thoughts” has helped me get started with that other work. I tried it in prose, but since it didn’t work out, I tried to do it in verse and as curious as it may be, that’s how I’m building the story, “he says.

The cover of “Thoughts” shows just that: thoughts. “At home I have a picture of India painted by hand on silk that shows a bouquet of that ornamental flower and I thought there was nothing better to illustrate my book”, explains Luisa Sabina.
