A plane of Iberia has frustrated his takeoff this Saturday when he was already carrying out the maneuver on the runway of the airport of Tenerife North before the imminence of the landing of another aircraft of Air Europe.
Sources of Aena consulted by Efe indicate that the crew of the plane that was going to land considered that there would not be enough time to synchronize both actions and he delayed his maneuver, taking a detour to buy time.
In turn, the pilot of the Iberia plane received instructions to frustrate takeoff.
It left the runway and after the pertinent checks ended up taking off to Madrid, from which the aircraft that was involved in this situation had come.
As reported by Cadena Cope, when the Iberia plane was in the middle of the runway and was a few seconds away from getting up from the ground, the pilot had to abort the maneuver and stop dead.
The captain explained to the passenger that he was forced to make this decision because another plane was starting the approach for landing on the same runway, and that, had we taken off, “the two planes would have collided in the air.”
