Today, the Governing Council of Festivities addresses the different contracts that will be carried out related to the celebration of Carnival 2022. Among those contracts, the artistic direction of the different galas and contests stands out, entrusted to Enrique Camacho, and that this year It is close to 400,000 euros, compared to the 181,000 that Camacho’s company billed in 2021. As explained by the Party Councilor, Alfonso Cabello, this significant increase is due to the fact that the functions assumed by the artistic and creative team are multiplied in this edition. “In order to optimize the budget, but also due to the tight deadlines in which we are moving, what we have done, with the approval of the legal service and the Intervention, is to bring together in a single contract all the concepts related to the artistic project ”.
This means that Camacho’s company will not only be in charge of the artistic development of galas and contests, but will also assume the hiring of the galas councilors, the dance corps, the design and manufacture of the costumes or the necessary props for the event. development of the different acts under his direction.
In this way, and as detailed in the file that is being approved today by the Governing Council, the artistic and creative team, which includes the concepts of direction, assistant director, choreographer, musical direction, costume design, assistant of artistic direction and coordination, it would have a cost of 165,525 euros. For these same concepts, 181,482 euros were charged this year. To this would be added the production team, for which last year 8,881 euros were paid through other contracts, which include the concepts of artistic production head, associated producers, administrative, or budget management, all for 27,835 euros. The difference between one and the other is due, according to Fiestas, to the fact that there are more people working.
The difference up to the 389,000 euros of the contract comes from the hand of concepts such as the wardrobe (clothing manufacturing and rental) for 43,396 euros; makeup and hairdressing, for 10,700; rulers of galas and contests (three per contest and four per gala including rehearsals), for 12,281; presenters of the galas and contests, for 18,619 euros; the artists participating in the overtures for 35,985 (the main artist is not included); and the props for 14,732 euros. Added to this are another 60,000 euros for music production, video recording, logistics and management costs.
