SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct 21 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of CaixaBank, José Ignacio Goirigolzarri, has visited this Thursday the headquarters of the Pro-disabled Intellectual Family Association of Tenerife, Aspronte, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with whom the entity collaborates with financial contributions of more than 40,000 euros in the last seven years to launch various projects.
Gorigolzarri was accompanied by Juan Antonio Alcaraz, CaixaBank General Director of Business; Juan Ramón Fuertes, territorial director of CaixaBank in the Canary Islands, and Juan Antonio Arroyo, president of Aspronte, who has acted as host.
CaixaBank, through financial contributions from the Fundación la Caixa, has shown its support for Aspronte, an association dedicated to achieving an improvement in the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities and other associated disorders and their active integration into society, through through the provision of services that cover all stages of its development.
Goirigolzarri has valued “the great work carried out by associations such as Aspronte” and highlighted that “social commitment is in the DNA of Fundación la Caixa and CaixaBank, in its founding origin, and it is expressed, both in financial work, and in through extensive social action with the aim of supporting people in vulnerable situations. “
For his part, Juan Antonio Arroyo thanked “CaixaBank and the la Caixa Foundation for the historical support of Aspronte in its 55 years of existence, participating in multiple projects aimed at facilitating the social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.”
The president of the social entity has also highlighted the support received from the financial entity from its network of offices, “which are sensitive and know the social needs of their environment”, putting in value the advice and financial support, “which have also contributed to make the new facilities in which we find ourselves a reality to continue our work “.
Among the initiatives promoted by the la Caixa Foundation and CaixaBank, a cognitive stimulation project using digital touch screens stands out to improve the teaching process and acquisition of skills of the people who attend the Aspronte occupational centers in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Orotava, through the use of new technologies.
CREATION OF A CINEFORUM
The collaboration has also allowed the adaptation and equipping of one of the premises of the Maximiliano Díaz López occupational center in the capital of Tenerife to create a ‘CineFórum’ with which to promote the personal and social development of people with intellectual disabilities.
Thanks to its territorial capillarity, the CaixaBank branch network can support the la Caixa Foundation in its social work, detecting the needs of local social entities such as Aspronte and channeling a part of the Foundation’s budget.
In 2020, 100% of the bank’s offices in the Canary Islands supported some social project and made it possible for thousands of small and medium-sized social solidarity entities to access financial aid to carry out their programs.
