High temperatures will tend to drop in the Canary Islands on a windy Thursday

The high temperatures of the last few days will tend to drop somewhat in Canary Islands this Thursday, when the skies will remain mostly clear but the wind will pick up until leaving strong and even very strong gusts in many places of the islands, according to the Meteorology Statal Agency (Aemet).

The maximum will be 27 degrees in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where the minimum will be 20, and 25 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where it will drop to 22, according to its forecast, which indicates that the wind is expected from the northeast, with strong gusts in almost all the islands that will be especially intense in El Hierro.

Northeast winds will also predominate in the waters of the Canary Islands, where their strength will oscillate between 3 and 4 or between 5 and 6, depending on the areas, and there will be swell or strong swell, with a west or northwest swell of 1 to 2 meters .

LANZAROTE

In the northern half, cloudy intervals tending to slightly cloudy in the central hours. In the rest, slightly cloudy or clear with slight haze. Temperatures with few changes or in slight decrease, more pronounced in the northeast coast. Northeast wind.

FUERTEVENTURA

Predominance of slightly cloudy or clear skies with intervals of low clouds in the northern half in the early and late hours and with the presence of haze. Temperatures with few changes or in slight decrease, more pronounced in interior areas. Northeast wind.

GRAN CANARIA

Cloudy intervals in the northern low areas and slightly cloudy or clear in the rest with slight haze on the southern slope. Temperatures unchanged in low areas oriented to the south and west and decreasing in the rest, being notable in the maximum values ​​in inland areas. Northeast wind occasionally strong on southeast and northwest slopes in the afternoon and with a predominance of breezes on southwest-facing coasts.

TENERIFE

Cloudy intervals in low-lying areas of the northeast and slightly cloudy or clear in the rest. Generally decreasing temperatures, which may be locally noticeable on the north slope. Northeast wind with strong intervals on the southeast slope and extreme northwest in the afternoon and with a predominance of breezes on west-facing coasts.

THE PALM

Cloudy intervals in the low-lying areas of the northeast and slightly cloudy or clear in the rest with slight haze on the west slope, tending to subside.
