“In our roadmap is not to appeal the sentence that favors José Julián Mena as a socialist militant,” Jorge González, Secretary of Organization of the regional Executive of the PSOE, said yesterday, in Onda Tenerife, recently arrived from the 40th National Congress of the party. in Valencia.
“After hearing the judicial ruling that de facto admits Mena’s militancy in the PSOE, we continue, before and during, in a deep reflection, where we must appeal to the generosity of all to find the best government formula for the neighbors and neighbors and for the socialists of Arona ”, said the socialist leader. Likewise, the Secretary of Organization of the PSC-PSOE remarked that “I am more in favor of sitting down to talk and reach an agreement between all parties. To be clearer to you, it is not on our roadmap to appeal the court ruling but to sit down and seek a solution to the breakdown of Arona ”.
For González, “the stairs go up step by step”, referring to the possibility that Mena could repeat as head of the PSOE list in Arona in the 2023 elections, recalling that “what happened in that municipality happened within the Socialist municipal group and the City Council and that is where a solution must be found that is taking too long to resolve. The fracture is not the fault of the National, the Regional or the Insular, it is a local issue, ”he insisted.
For Jorge González, the management board created in Arona, as a result of the expulsion of the local president Agustín Marichal and the open proceedings of expulsion of José Julián Mena (mayor) and Luis García (Urban Planning councilor), is the one that has the responsibility to find the way that resolves the conflict. “There should be order among the members of that group, neither Ángel Víctor Torres nor Pedro Martín nor I have to do it, so I appeal to the generosity of all, and when I say all, they are all, to fix things at home, from internally, because it is still a local problem, ”González remarked.
It must be remembered that the Court of First Instance Number 1 of Arona annulled the expulsion of the PSOE of the mayor, José Julián Mena, on understanding that there was a defect of form and substance in the disciplinary file, after resolving in favor of the councilor the demand that this put his party. The PSOE was given 20 business days -the 27th of this month- to appeal, a right that, according to Jorge González, he will not exercise.
