A citizen initiative launched through the Change.org platform has collected more than 600 signatures to end the practice of the ‘bottle’ in the ring of La Laguna before the “inaction” of the agents of the Local Police for lack of troops and the “permissiveness” of the City Council.

In the initiative, under the slogan ‘STOP BOTELLÓN’, it is stated that from Thursday to Sunday a multitude of people gather in the area, with a high percentage of minors, consuming alcohol and drugs, which often ends in mass fights , sexual assault, vandalism and filth.

They even point out, there are “continuous threats” to neighbors who cannot access their homes.

Faced with this situation, the mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, has requested a meeting with the sub-delegation of the Government to analyze the situation, together with the Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo – owner of the tram -, and take the appropriate measures .
