Los Realejos City Council concludes a record investment in seven schools

The projects began during the summer in Pérez Zamora, CEIP Toscal Longuera, CEIP Palo Blanco, CEO La Pared, CEIP Agustín Espinosa, CEIP La Montañeta and CEIP Mencey Bentor. The exterior painting and other improvements in an eighth center, the CEIP San Sebastián, which will be carried out in December, are pending, “since being in the historical complex of Realejo Bajo, the works required favorable reports from the insular area of Historical Heritage.”

Manuel Domínguez emphasizes that it is “a record investment in RAM works, which has been added to the reinforcement of workers until December through an employability plan between the City Council and the Cabildo, which has allowed, together with the municipal staff janitors, other minor improvements and complementary maintenance tasks ”.

“All the actions contemplated in this RAM works package have been projects drawn up by the Projects and Works Unit of the Los Realejos City Council itself, agreed in all cases with the management teams of each school, prioritizing their main needs”, adds Carmen Rosa Pérez.

At the CEIP Agustín Espinosa new toilets were built in the nursery classrooms, and lights were changed inside the entire school and the gym building for other led technology. In the CEIP La Montañeta, the connecting footbridge of the administrative area of the center with the primary education building and the Secretariat wing was fitted out. The damaged exterior pavement areas were repaired and replaced, changing the manhole covers and manholes. The exit door of the children’s building was also replaced by another equipped with easy-to-open panic locks. The methacrylate cover of the children’s playground, which was leaking, was repaired.

At CEIP Mencey Bentor, the toilets on the ground floor of the main building were improved, and the lights were changed. At CEIP Palo Blanco, work was carried out on the expansion of the exterior roof of the sports hall and synthetic and insulating parquet was placed in the children’s classrooms. In addition, a toilet was carried out in one of the classrooms.

At CEO La Pared, the exterior of the main building was painted; access to the dining room was equipped with an adapted ramp, and new fencing was placed in a risk area. In the Toscal Longuera CEIP, the children’s playground was renovated and the water points were improved, among other actions.
