A 10-year-old boy has been seriously injured when he was hit by a car in the municipality of San Miguel de Abona, in Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2.

The event occurred yesterday, Friday, around 10:15 p.m., when the 1-1-2 operating room received an alert informing of the run over of a minor on Calle Trasera San Blas.

Once the emergency resources were activated, three ambulances from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), one of them medicalized; a doctor and a nurse from the Health Center in the area, and the Civil Guard.

The basic life support ambulance staff, upon arrival at the scene of the accident, informed the SUC coordinating doctor, on duty in the operating room of the Cecoes 1-1-2, the severity of the minor’s injuries.

For this reason, the medical team of the Health Center in the area and a sanitarized ambulance were activated to carry out advanced assistance, while the medicalized ambulance arrived.

The minor, after being stabilized by the health personnel, was taken by medical ambulance to the Ntra. Sra. De Candelaria University Hospital when presenting a severe abdominal trauma.
