The Local police of Santa Cruz, through the Lost Property service and the Operational Unit, has managed to locate the owner of a check for 103,500 euros and a folder with documentation that he had lost. As highlighted by the Security area, citizen collaboration has been essential to find the owner. In this case, it was the owners of the local Cien Montaditos, located in Plaza Candelaria, who found a folder with documentation, cash and a check for said value, which a client had left at said establishment. “They immediately contacted the Local Police to deliver and try to return said effects.”
The agents of the Operational Unit, after reviewing the documentation, which, in particular, included a contract for the sale of a property, the aforementioned check and the amount of 200 euros in cash, began to cross data to allow the location of its owner. With these data and the support of the Lost Property service, it was possible to find an Italian citizen to whom all the documentation and money belonged.
Once in person at the police station, this man commented to the agents his gratitude for the police work, responsibility and civility shown by those in charge of the premises where he had lost a folder inside of which were the documentation. In fact, he explained that after detecting the loss, he could not determine where in the city he had lost the documents, the check and the money.
For his part, the owner of this restaurant, Eduardo Otero, played down this fact before the agents, pointing out that “we did what we should do.” In fact, Otero explained that just five months ago he himself had lost his wallet with documentation, cards and money in the middle of the street, and someone had also handed it over to the Local Police, recovering all its contents after being located by the agents, ” that they gave me an exquisite treatment “.
Likewise, just a week ago and as EL DÍA announced, the Lost Property service of the Local Police of Santa Cruz also managed to locate the owner of a folder full of lottery, despite the fact that there was no identifying documentation of the lottery. owner. The folder arrived at said police service after a neighbor of the capital found it in a bank on Viera y Clavijo Street. The citizen gave it to an agent and he sent it to Lost Objects, whose headquarters are located at the Tres de Mayo Avenue Police Station.
