The Court of Instruction number 2 of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has admitted to processing a complaint presented by the socialist group in the capital’s City Hall against four public officials of the party -among them the current mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez- and a senior official linked to the training for the alleged crimes of prevarication and embezzlement of public funds in the hiring of the opening, revitalization and closing service of the Casa de la Juventud, located in the building known as Casa Siliuto.
As reported Canary Islands Now, Judge Eva Esther Juárez has sent another block of the complaint filed by the Socialists, dedicated to the hiring of furniture during the renovation works of the building, to another court, Instruction No. 1 in the capital of Tenerife, where Judge María de los Ángeles Zabala had already opened proceedings for the same reason against civil servant Pilar Rodríguez Machín, Head of the Economic Promotion and Quality of Life Service of the Consistory during the time of the events (early 2019) and, currently, CEO of the Municipal Institute of Social Care (IMAS), a position of trust of CC, party of which it is affiliated and with which it participated in the municipal elections of 2015 and 2019.
The complaint is directed, in addition to the mayor of the capital city corporation, José Manuel Bermúdez, against the current councilors Juan Alfonso Cabello and Claudia Reverón and the exedil Verónica Meseguer, now a councilor in the Council of Tenerife.
