The Corrocho road, which was a dirt road that served as access to the farms in the area, will be enabled as a one-way street (descending), equipped with spaces for «More than 60 or 70 car parks»; gutter for the channeling of rainwater, and Street lighting. The mayor sauzalero, Mariano Pérez (CC), celebrates that the works are facing their final stretch and hopes that the road can be opened to traffic throughout the month of November.
«The work is nearing completion and then we will have a much-needed new way to decongest the entrance and exit of Ravelo. It is already in its final phase. We have the second layer of asphalt, the completion of the gutter, the installation of lighting and vertical and horizontal signage. In 15 or 20 days it should be finished ”, Pérez explains to EL DÍA.
For the mayor of the municipality, the Corrocho road not only will it serve to expedite the departure from Ravelo, but also the entrance, since the Corraletes road will be released to be used only in an upward direction for a good part of its route. «It will have public lighting, parking lots along one side and some stone walls to delimit the orchards», He emphasizes.
This new road was included in the improvements to overland communications provided for in the General Management Plan (PGO) “for more than eight years.” Mariano perez he emphasizes that “we had it painted on plans and thanks to the savings of all the neighbors, and to some healthy municipal accounts, we have now been able to make it a reality.”
The nationalist mayor points out that “it is not very common for a City Council to take on the creation of a new road alone, but it has been more than 8 months of work and the result is very satisfactory. We hope that since its opening it will allow us to significantly improve both the flow of traffic from ascent by Corraletes, from the area where the Red Cross is located, next to the TF-5, as well as the one going down through this new Corrocho highway ».
The mayor, Mariano Pérez (CC), hopes that it can be put into use throughout the month of November
This new road, about 600 meters long, will connect Real Orotava street with Corraletes, another street where the Sauzalero Council plans to invest more than 100,000 euros in improving security. “We want to eliminate the risk that exists in an area with a very dangerous ditch and we already have that action also awarded to begin very soon,” Mariano Pérez advances. The City Council of El Sauzal plans to carry out shortly, with more than 2 million euros of equity, a major reform of Calle Real Orotava, another key avenue for the neighborhood of Ravelo, which runs through the heart of its urban core.
