A total of 40 soldiers belonging to a section of the 93rd Field Artillery Regiment of the Canarian Brigade, based in Los Rodeos, have joined the Military Emergency Unit (UME) since this morning to collaborate in the removal of ashes. accumulated on roofs by the eruption of the La Palma volcano, thus avoiding the possible collapse of the structures of the houses.
These 40 soldiers join the 25 troops of the Army that continue to collaborate in the barracks of El Fuerte in the logistical and administrative support of the entire device deployed for this emergency by the Armed Forces.
In addition, another 190 members of the UME (Military Emergency Unit) continue, from the beginning of the volcano eruption, carrying out surveillance and monitoring of the progress of the laundry, gas control, smoke cloud monitoring, sampling of lava and accompaniment of evacuated people to their homes to remove their priority belongings with psychological accompaniment.
