The Canarian Institute of Hemodonation and Hemotherapy (ICHH), has announced the making available to the donor population of Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Fuerteventura several spaces enabled to donate blood. In a statement, the entity informs that the Canary Islands urgently need 300 blood donations every day to cover the needs.

The ICHH recalls that to donate blood you must make an appointment by calling 012 or 922 470012/928 301 012 (option 8), Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. or by filling in the form published on the front page of the donation website. com. “Before going to donate, it is advisable to review the information published on this same web page in the Information and Protocol tabs, to become familiar with the established security measures and the self-assessment test.”

The ICHH also reports that people vaccinated against Covid-19, with both one and two doses, can donate blood after 48 hours after inoculation.

In Gran Canaria, it will be possible to donate in the capital, given that the campaign continues in the Alfredo Krauss Auditorium, inside the San Borondón room, with the donor service hours from 8.45 to 14.00 and from 15.45 to 21.00 from Monday to Friday , except on holiday Tuesday.

The campaign also continues at the Official College of Nursing of Las Palmas-Rafael Cabrera street-, with hours of attention to the donor from 8.45 am to 2.00 pm and from 3.45 am to 9.00 pm, throughout the week except for Tuesday, October 12.

It can be donated in Santa Lucía de Tirajana, in the premises in front of the La Libertad park, below the justice of the peace courts, on Calle Felix Rodríguez de la Fuente, number 4, whose hours will be Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4:45 to 4:45 p.m. 8.30pm and Friday 9.15am to 1.30pm. And finally, the temporary extraction point of the Alcampo shopping center will be open in Telde, together with the lottery administration, whose hours will be from 9.15 to 13.45 and from 16.00 to 20.45 from Monday to Friday except holidays.

As for the fixed points of blood collection, the ICHH makes its headquarters available to the population in the street at Alfonso XIII, number 4, in the capital of Gran Canaria, from Monday to Friday from 8.15 to 2.45 p.m. and from 3.45 to 9.15 p.m. (except holidays).

You can also go, in a general way, to other fixed points of the Canarian Transfusion Network such as the Maternal-Infant University Hospital of the Canary Islands from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 13:30; the Doctor Negrín University Hospital of Gran Canaria from Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria, where you can donate from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

In Fuerteventura you can go to donate in Puerto del Rosario, on Wednesday, from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday from 3:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., in the teaching support unit, in the old Popular University. In addition, the fixed point of blood donation of the Canarian Transfusion Network on the island will also be operational, which is located in the General Hospital of Fuerteventura, which will be open from Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (except holidays). To donate it is convenient to request an appointment in the number 928 546 684.

In Tenerife, you can check the time points on the ICHH website, and the fixed points of the Canarian Transfusion Network are the Canary University Hospital – from Sunday to Friday and holidays from 8.30 to 21.30 and on Saturdays from 8.30 to 14.30 and 15.30 at 8:00 p.m.- and at the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital -of Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.-.
