The Governing Council of the Canary Islands has authorized the extension of the maximum capacity allowed for alert levels 1 and 2 – in which all the islands are – to 100% in outdoor spaces and 80% indoors.
This has been pointed out by the Deputy Minister of the Presidency, Antonio Olivera, during a press conference in which he pointed out that these measures will come into effect on the same day of their publication in the BOC and will be applicable until 24 hours on October 31, 2021 without prejudice to the possibility of extension depending on the epidemiological situation.
The change in capacity is due to the improvement in epidemiological indicators, both of accumulated incidence and of assistance capacities, which since yesterday have placed all the islands at level 1, except Fuerteventura, which this week remains at level 2.
SPECIFICITIES AND EXCEPTIONS
However, the Government of the Canary Islands provides specific capacity for public shows and sports activities based on different factors.
Thus, for public shows, cultural, recreational, leisure and leisure activities, including sports, that take place sporadically and in places other than the establishments intended for the regular exercise of said activity and, where appropriate, those held in facilities demountable or open sky, which does not have the consideration of mass events, two conditions will be adjusted.
The first is that in those that are held in outdoor spaces, the maximum allowed capacity will be 100% if the public remains seated and without consuming food, and 90% if the public remains seated and consumes food. If the public remains standing, the maximum capacity will be 90% and no food or beverages may be consumed.
Meanwhile, the second is that in those that are held in closed spaces, the maximum capacity will be 80% and you will not be able to consume food or beverages, no standing public will be allowed.
For children and youth camps in the open air they will have a maximum capacity of 80% in outdoor spaces with a maximum of 150 participants including the monitor. In the activities carried out in closed spaces, the maximum capacity will be 60% with a maximum of 60 people including the monitor.
Likewise, for federated sports, regional or insular, outdoors or enclosed spaces and non-federated sports outdoors, it is necessary to ensure the maintenance of the interpersonal distance of 2 meters whenever possible, with mandatory use. of the mask.
The number of participants will be limited by the specific regulations of each sport. The public capacity will be 100% in open spaces and 80% in closed spaces.
