The Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands granted the City Council of San Miguel de Abona a grant of 800,000 euros to condition the San Salvador beach. It is located on the coastal strip attached to the Golf del Sur Urbanization, adjacent to the San Miguel Sports Port and the Amarilla Golf Urbanization.
The action has a budget of 2,603,334 million euros (1.8 municipal contribution), is divided into two phases and its execution period will expire in April 2024.
The action includes the contribution of sand, generated from the crushing of the pebble itself in the area; the construction of new pedestrian accesses and the environmental conditioning of the spaces between the promenade and the beach, with species typical of the marine environment; as well as the provision of adequate services. All this with the premise of developing the works respecting the integration into the natural environment and the conservation of the elements of environmental interest in the area.
The Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Government of the Canary Islands, Teresa Berástegui, and the general director of Tourist Infrastructure, Fernando Miñarro, together with the mayor of the municipality, Arturo Gonzalez, visited the area yesterday. The councilor claimed for the municipality “a beach in conditions for the enjoyment of the neighbors and the tourist sector in general.”
This will be brilliant as the sea front has looked dirty and sun down for a number of years. We would love lots of lovely palm trees, seating and rubbish bins. A good attractive pathway like at Adeje would be great as the whole old Golf del Sur needs improving.
Thank you
