Latest news on the La Palma volcano

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct 6 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The bishops of the two dioceses of the Canary Archipelago, Monsignor Bernardo Álvarez and Monsignor José Mazuelos, have written a letter to invite all islanders to pray for La Palma and its inhabitants and to go to the Mother of God and our Mother to seek consolation. and refuge under its protection.

The prelates wanted to emphasize that this can be done at any time, but in a special way a community prayer vigil has been proposed on October 11, the eve of the Virgin Mary of Pilar.

To do this, as indicated in the letter, they invite the parishioners to go to the Marian shrines and the temples of the patrons of each island, asking Our Lady to protect the people of La Palma from the volcano and stop its devastating effects. Likewise, they invite that in parishes and other places of prayer, according to their possibilities, they can have a moment of prayer on the same day 11.

On the other hand, the bishops of the Nivariense and Canariense dioceses have not wanted to miss this opportunity to thank the scientists for their work, which has made it possible to prevent the risks of this volcanic crisis. Likewise, the prelates acknowledge and thank the authorities, security forces and bodies, civil protection, etc., as well as the general public, the accompaniment of the victims, the effort to minimize personal damage and to avoid the loss of life human.
