SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct 6 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The CEO of Tourism of Tenerife, David Pérez, has held a dozen meetings this week with heads of the offices of the Institute of Tourism of Spain (Turespaña) abroad and has closed synergies with twelve of them to expand their promotion outside the Archipelago.
The meetings, which have taken place within the framework of the I Congress of Tourist Destinations held in Seville, have served to transfer the destination strategy to the different headquarters of the state body during this winter season, as well as throughout 2022.
Specifically, David Pérez has met with heads of the Turespaña Foreign Office (OET) in London, New York, Berlin, Vienna, Zurich, Milan, Abu Dhabi, Brussels, Warsaw, Rome, Dublin, Oslo and Stockholm.
“They have been very intense and very fruitful meetings, in which our main objective has been to show our proposals to create synergies that allow us, through the international potential of the OTS, to show the attractions of the island, since, once the tourism has been reactivated, our intention is to carry out fam trips and press trips to show that we are one of the most complete and diverse destinations in Spain, “he said.
In this way, Pérez has emphasized that they want to value that Tenerife “has, among many other attributes, excellent gastronomy, wines, architecture, culture, heritage, nature, to complete an experience in the destination that goes beyond the sun. and the beach – which is why many markets continue to know us – in order to attract new traveler profiles. That is, after all, the objective of our new strategy, “he added.
In this sense, it has indicated that, thanks to the different meetings held with the representatives of the OTS, “we have closed support from Turespaña to roadshows -travels made up of a representation of the destination to different markets of origin-, collaborations in fam trips -travels with agencies and tour operators- and press trips -with press- to Tenerife, as well as the improvement of communication through the offices about the destination.
“What we have transferred, in short, is our desire that Turespaña can adopt an active role in different actions that we want to carry out in the different issuing markets in order to bring them, in a striking and experiential way, those products that , through the new promotion and marketing strategy we want to promote: those related to health and well-being, outdoor sports -cycling, trail, hiking- or also, of course, our wide range of leisure activities through our brand Tfe Cool, “he said.
In the same way, Pérez has explained to the different offices the efforts in terms of sustainability and digitization that have been made by the Cabildo, through Turismo de Tenerife, in the destination. “The offices have been interested in our smart destination strategy, as well as the Biosphere certification in terms of sustainability.” He assures that “in Tenerife we have a plan, a concrete strategy for continuous improvement, and that is precisely what the new traveler demands and that is how we have transferred it to the OET representatives,” he stated.
