Whose footprints are behind us on the road? Are you able to recognize which women were who stepped on them at the time? Without them, would we now have these roads? How can we make new trails?

Walking together, we create new paths.

They, wise footprints They are the paths traveled by women in the local culture, a project for the dissemination and recognition of their history in the rural world.

The objective is to travel our past to the present through conscious hiking. Along different routes designed in different areas of Tenerife –Arafo, Adeje and Los Silos–, they take a step forward and value their role in the economic, social and cultural development of the island.

They, wise footprints

Equality, Responsibility, Community

Behind this proposal is Tazirga Wellness Tours, a conscious tourism company that combines tours with activities and wellness experiences in nature. Their goal has always been to create memorable moments of personal connection and relaxation. To do this, it is committed to responsible tourism with the environment where its activity takes place.

It was born from the desire of its founder, Rut Gómez, to want to spread seeds of awareness and well-being through her work as a tourism and nature guide, and a yoga instructor.

Hiking towards equality and sustainability

To advance on the path to equality we need to recognize the footprints of those who stepped on it before. In the case of rural women, it becomes even more important, since many of the innovative initiatives for the recovery of rural life come from the hand of women who continue to maintain lively traditional trades and on which a large part of the local culture depends. each place.

For this reason, authenticity, sustainability, commitment to equality and the environment are the axes on which Ellas relies, wise traces to create memorable experiences.

We will walk together towards an experience connected with the environment that will make you connect with yourself, showing you small corners and popular stories not included in the travel guides, which promote the authenticity of the destination.

Step by Step…

Step by step we advance, we build new paths towards equality, diversity and environmental, social and economic sustainability. And along the way, various institutions have given us their support, such as the ICDC, the Adeje City Council, the Arafo City Council and the Los Silos City Council, among others. As well as the entrepreneurial women who tell us about their experiences in the first person such as Pilar, Carmen Gloria, Ángeles and Inmaculada.

We cannot do this alone. Come to listen to them, to feel in connection with the rural environment to which we belong and from which we have so much to learn.

Do we walk together?

#we are

From October 9 we start with the routes, where you can share trails together, or support through your collaborations. As well as requesting your private routes.

They and the southern midlands / Arafo: October 9, 16 and 23

Women and material heritage / Adeje: October 30 and November 13 and 27

They are made of salt / Los Silos: October 17 and November 14 and 21
