The Association of Journalists of Tenerife (APT) has presented the candidacy of Radio Televisión Canaria (RTVC) to the Ondas 2021 Awards, specifically in the section ‘Nacional Televisión for the best current affairs program or special coverage’ for the monitoring of the eruption volcanic area of La Palma.
According to the APT, Radio Televisión Canaria has stood out since the afternoon of Sunday, September 19, for having deployed from the moment of the volcano’s outbreak, which was broadcast live, an exceptional coverage of the event, offering its evolution live and analyzing it in programs informative its development.
On a daily basis and without time limits, the programming has been focused on punctually informing about the news that was taking place. In addition, RTVC has transferred the signal to other national and foreign televisions. The live broadcast for hours and hours, uninterrupted, has made it possible to follow this unique and historical phenomenon of nature, highlights the Association.
