The La Jara company carried out, with the historic center of Arona as a luxury setting, the representation of dramatized routes with three circuits in the squares of Las Paz and del Cristo, in El Calvario, and in the area of the Casa de la Bodega and the Casa de los Baute. These were representations of typical everyday stories from the early and mid-twentieth century. A fisherwoman with the milkmaid practicing bartering, two ladies with a basket of figs peaks and kneading a gofio bag, a grandmother with her grandson waiting for a healer or the representation of a lady who comes directly from the mountain and a peasant.
The Casa de la Bodega hosted the gastronomic tastings, where visitors tasted local products such as honey, olive oil, cheeses, tunos jams and wine. In addition, they also enjoyed the exhibitions Art and heritage of the town of Arona, by Antonio Javier Fernández Fumero, and A as it comes, on the bat games defense from the hand of the teacher Eduardo Oramas Alayón, the first Gold Medal awarded by the Consistory.
The Town Hall hosted two other exhibitions: Wood carving and painting, by the artists Pedro and Dácil Trujillo, and La autarquía en Arona, el racionamiento.
The rest of the activities, between demonstrations and workshops of traditional crafts, performances of folk groups and exhibitions of traditional costumes, among others, were concentrated in the Plaza del Cristo de la Salud, as well as the tent with a solidarity stall to collect food.
Within the framework of the festivities, today the religious acts begin with the mass in honor of the Virgin at 11:00 am, continuing with the solemn mass at 7:00 pm, both in the Plaza San Antonio Abad. Tomorrow, big day, the solemn mass is celebrated in honor of the Santísimo Cristo de la Salud (at 11:00, 18:00 and 20:00 hours) in the parish of San Antonio Abad.
