‘DiverSaldo’ once again invigorates La Orotava and becomes a commercial attraction

The exhibition is organized by the Orotavense Consistory through the Commerce area, directed by Felipe David Benítez, and with the collaboration of the small and medium business associations Oropyme, Apymevo and Zona Comercial La Perdoma. The initiative allowed merchants to sell off-season items and liquidate stock from previous years. In addition to promoting local commerce and contributing, in parallel, to revitalizing the historic-artistic center of La Orotava. Numerous shops, which are located in this part of the municipality, also opened their doors throughout the day.

The mayor appreciates that this “important” activity can be recovered in which “the true protagonists are the merchants and businessmen of the municipality, and with which an atmosphere is generated and an attractiveness for our neighbors and citizens from other parts of the island who visit us, since this fair of offers is one of the pioneers held on the island and it is already consolidated as one of the most anticipated commercial events ». From the City Council, as far as possible, it will continue to support the sector, as well as promoting projects and initiatives that are proposed by merchants and businessmen, so that they redound in favor of the general interests of the Town.

The mayor Felipe Benítez values ”the involvement” of the commercial sector and thanks “the work and effort”. It also highlights the “exemplary behavior” of the people who attended the fair, always complying with all sanitary measures. “The collaboration of all has made it possible for another year for DiverSaldo to be a success, not comparable in figures or data to those of previous editions, due to the circumstances, but with a very positive result,” he said. In this sense, he pointed out that «In general, the businesses were satisfied, within the situation in which we find ourselves, and being a DiverSaldo different from the one we were used to ». During the day, the capacity of the two squares was completed on several occasions. Benítez assures us that “as long as the sanitary conditions allow it, we will return to place it in the streets, in an open way, and we will resume the entertainment activities for the whole family during the day.” “This format shows that events can be held, with a lot of participation and totally safe.”
