The Development Society will advise more than fifty SMEs in their digital transformation

The Development Society will advise SMEs and freelancers in Santa Cruz on digital transformation, through the Smart-Eco project. This has been reported by the CEO of the capital entity, Alfonso Cabello, who has announced that “we have opened the registration period for companies, SMEs and freelancers who wish to benefit from these free actions called ‘Santa Cruz Digital’, and that they will last for 6 months ”. These are three lines of support with which it is intended to reach more than fifty companies, 20 in each of the lines.

The mayor has also indicated that “the objective pursued with ‘Santa Cruz Digital’ is to support the digital transformation process of SMEs and freelancers in the capital”, and detailed that “this program offers free, individualized and confidential visits and advice , as well as work sessions with an expert in digitization for 6 months ”.

Likewise, Cabello has pointed out that “this program is structured in three lines of work: ‘Advice for the digitization of business processes’, ‘Advice on social networks’ and ‘Advice on internationalization through e-commerce’, and among which the The business fabric of the Tenerife capital will have to select, depending on its current needs, the one in which it wishes to participate, although it will be possible to enroll in all three simultaneously ”.

“Registration will be open until October 30, so we encourage all SMEs and freelancers in Santa Cruz to participate in this initiative, which is also free,” stressed the mayor, who stressed that “a maximum of 20 participants for each line, so we hope to benefit more than fifty SMEs and freelancers and with whom we will begin to work individually in mid-November ”.

In this way, the line of work called “Advice for the digitization of your business processes”, aims to increase the competitive capacity of businesses thanks to ICTs, and in which diagnoses will be made of the use of technologies by SMEs and freelancers, as well as recommendations for improvement and evaluations of their application.

For its part, in “Advice on social networks” will seek to extract the maximum potential of social networks in order to be used as promotional tools, in order to improve positioning on the Internet. As for the third line, entitled “Advice on internationalization through e-commerce”, support will be given to SMEs and freelancers in the revitalization of the electronic commerce space and online marketing channels, as well as in their process of implementation, training and specialization in Different fields.

What is Smart-Eco?

It is a project included in the Territorial Cooperation Program Interreg VA Madeira-Azores-Canarias (MAC) 2014-2020, it is financed by the European Union 85% by ERDF funds, and in which the municipalities of Adeje, Candelaria, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Madeira, Terceira Island and Pico Island (Azores), the municipality of Praia (Santiago Island, Cape Verde), Dakar (Senegal) and Nouakchott (Mauritania).

It is one of the 67 projects approved in the second call of said program and has a budget of 1,309,640.38 euros. Thus, the INTERREG VA Spain-Portugal MAC (Madeira-Azores-Canarias) 2014-2020 Cooperation Program aims to contribute to the development of the union’s strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth and to the achievement of economic, social and economic cohesion. territorial territory of the outermost regions of the Canary Islands, Madeira and Azores, as well as the countries of Cape Verde, Senegal and Mauritania.
