The La Guancha City Council has restricted the consumption of running water throughout the municipality and the entire population by the excessive presence of fluoride, which has reached 4.1 milligrams per liter.
“The water is not suitable for drinking, cooking, or preparing food in general,” reports the City Council, which estimates that the period that may elapse to return to normal parameters will be approximately one month.
According to the mayor, Antonio Hernández, “we have to try to recover the levels in the tanks, which have been reduced mainly for two reasons: on the one hand, the high consumption by the population and on the other, leaks that are produced by the different breakdowns in the network ”.
