SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep 28 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife has awarded 35 subsidies for a total of 254,738.12 euros to be used for maintenance, conservation or restoration works of properties classified as Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC), or in the process of being so, that have patrimonial interest and the included in special or municipal plans.

The director of Planning of the Territory and Historical Heritage, Emilio Fariña, explained that the amounts, granted to individuals, “range between 1,200 and 10,000 euros and will pay, for the first time, up to 100% of the actions required by the real estate” .

However, I point out that it is “a firm commitment to the conservation of our heritage that will allow, not only to return to their correct state of conservation and appearance, to numerous properties on the island, but, in parallel, to create employment in the field of construction and restoration “.

The island director added that, once they have the necessary authorizations to carry out the actions, the beneficiaries will have up to 12 months to execute them; after completing the process of contracting the work object of the subsidy, awarded through the free competition process.

He stressed that this is “the first time that aid of this scope has been called, of which citizens have been beneficiaries who otherwise would not have had the opportunity to carry out this type of intervention in houses and historic buildings”, sentenced.
