SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep 28 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Agents of the National Police have arrested a 39-year-old man who has already entered prison for the robbery of a jewelry store in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where he seized jewelry valued at more than 10,000 euros. Her partner, a 21-year-old girl, was also arrested and is being investigated for a cover-up crime.
The events occurred on September 20 in the neighborhood of La Salud. A man dressed in black entered the establishment and, after intimidating the employee with a weight, repeatedly hit the displays until he was able to seize the jewelry that was inside.
The agents located the alleged perpetrator of the robbery in the La Cuesta Piedra neighborhood. When required by the national police, he tried to flee until he was arrested, putting up strong resistance to his arrest.
The detainee was seized more than 2,400 euros in cash, possibly from the sale of the stolen jewelry. The following day, a young woman allegedly related to the incident was detained in a building on Avenida Asuncionistas when she tried to elude the agents.
The rapid police action allowed the recovery of a necklace valued at 1,200 euros, apparently sold by the couple, who, after being exhibited to its owner, was recognized and delivered to her. In addition, the detainee was also wanted for the alleged commission of another violent robbery carried out in Puerto de la Cruz. This man entered a house and, hitting its inhabitant on the head with a hammer, stole 500 euros and a watch.
The detainees, together with the statement made for this purpose, were made available to the competent judicial authority. The alleged perpetrator of the robbery at the jewelry store was booked into prison by court order. The actions have been carried out by police officers belonging to the Provincial Police Station of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
