The Governing Council of the Cabildo de Tenerife has appointed María Aránzazu Artal Díez as the island’s director of Innovation, replacing José Clemente Díaz.
The new island director has a degree in Biology from the University of La Laguna, has a master’s degree in Integrated Management Systems and is a superior technician in Occupational Risk Prevention.
In addition, for 25 years she has been Celgán’s director of quality and food safety and has held the functions of head of laboratories, specific training of personnel, management and coordination of production processes and development of new products (R&D), among other tasks. .
The Island Councilor for Innovation, Enrique Arriaga, thanks José Clemente Díaz for the good work he did during the time he worked in the Island Directorate.
Likewise, Artal’s experience in team coordination, mediation and R&D development stands out, “skills that can be put into practice in the area, which is in itself complex given the number of programs and projects that are managed in it, an exciting challenge in which its main objective will be to develop new employment niches linked to the technology sector, locate new companies that want to invest in R + D + i on the island and the creation of new programs that promote the innovation and technology “.
The new island director thanks for the trust placed in her and assures that she assumes the position with “great responsibility” and being “aware” of the importance of innovation in job creation in the coming years, “an opportunity” that Tenerife “must not miss”.
