Sell happiness in Tenerife by land, sea and air

He arrived from Barcelona a little more than 25 years ago with the idea of spending a week on vacation and he has been in Tenerife for the same years. He left behind a nightclub and set up a tourist excursion company that today has 20 outlets in the south of the island. “I made people happy in the Barcelona nightclub and now I make them happy in Tenerife, I have everything they need so that my clients can enjoy life, by air, land and sea”, comments Jesús Molina, owner of Excursions Jesus.

“I came to Tenerife to spend a few days and I saw that they worked here all year round and not six months like in the Barcelona nightclub and I decided to set up a small excursion office and now we are going to see if we can reach 20. I think I have. done well, because everything is praise, “says this half Andalusian, half Catalan and now half Tenerife.

His job consists of being a tourist intermediary for some 50 companies with potential clients, offering them fishing excursions, diving, helicopters, bicycles, quads, rental cars, natural parks, theme parks …, “everything you want to do in Tenerife, We have it ”, affirms Jesús Molina proudly. “We have so many excursions that sometimes I don’t even know what we have.”

He is optimistic about the tourist recovery after the long pandemic: “After 18 months of a total disaster, we have had a summer that we have not stopped, thanks to the vaccine, which has allowed me to remove workers from the ERTE and I think that from October will be even better. So much so that there are already excursions that we cannot offer or have to be booked a week in advance, because there is too much demand and, above all, because many car, quad or boat rental companies have sold them and now there are many fewer in the market. Now it is almost impossible to get a rental car and if you do, it will be very expensive for you ”.

All excursions are guaranteed by risk insurance, because “if the companies do not guarantee it, I will not sell the activity to them,” remarks Jesús Molina, who in his 25 years of experience points out that he has not had any serious accidents. “They have asked me for all kinds of services, some very strange, they have even told me, because of calling me Jesus, that if they bought me a ticket they would go to heaven. I hope to be there, but I hope it will take 100 years to receive us ”.

“La Gomera, catamarans to visit cetaceans and jet skis are the most popular services, especially in summer, while the Masca ravine and, of course, the Loro Parque and the Siam Park are very popular on walks.” he points out, while trusting that “the port of Fonsalía will not be built, because we should not punish the huge herd of cetaceans that we have in that area, we should protect them”, although he understands that “we must find a solution to the port of Los Cristianos, because there is a total collapse. Parking should be expanded, because many of us have to park on Avenida Juan Carlos I “.

The best payment for Jesús is that “many European clients return to the Island already married with children and continue to buy me the same tickets. That is my greatest satisfaction ”.
