The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Natural Environment and Safety Management area, has urgently approved the tender for the works included in the project to adapt and improve the jetty on Masca beach, in Buenavista del Norte, in the Teno Rural Park, with a budget of 1,671,638 euros.
The execution period for these works will be six months and interested companies will have until October 4 to present their offers.
“The route through the channel of the Masca ravine has been working for some months, although the experience cannot be completed with the exit to the sea because the jetty, as is known, is not practicable”, has indicated the Minister of Management of the Natural Environment, Isabel García.
Thus, he pointed out that “the reform of the pier is essential to complete this environment and that is why the Cabildo has opened a bidding process for the execution of these works and this long-awaited and necessary project for both the municipalities of Buenavista and Santiago is completed. del Teide, by offering the possibility of going out to the walkers by the sea and not having to return up the ravine “.
García has also pointed out that “the improvement of this infrastructure will expand the possibilities in the active tourism sector, as well as resume the work of companies that travel by sea from Masca to the south of the island.”
The adaptation and improvement of the jetty contemplates the extension to a surface of 114 square meters, starting from the existing rock, placing a vertical concrete facing, as well as the extension of the rocky platform by means of precast reinforced concrete pieces.
In addition, the current walkway will be demolished, replacing it with another with a light structure.
