SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep 22 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Official College of Pharmacists of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has enabled a system that facilitates access to their treatments to people evicted by the eruption of La Palma who do not have their health card, their treatment plans or have left their medications at home .
In coordination with the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS), a procedure has been established that allows patients to go to pharmacies to collect their medications by showing a document proving their identity. Thus, the demand made by La Palma pharmacists who have seen an increase in the demand for medicines by evacuated people who do not have a health card, either due to forgetfulness or loss, is solved.
Likewise, the College of Pharmacists has started a campaign to collect funds for the affected people through the channels set up by the Cabildo de La Palma and the Red Cross. Of the 389 pharmacies, 387 will provide information to users about donation channels. The 2 remaining pharmacies have been affected by the volcanic eruption.
Pharmacists, who celebrate their World Day next Saturday, September 25, will observe a minute of silence on Friday 24, in solidarity with the victims on the island of La Palma, at 8:30 p.m. in different locations that will be illuminated in green, color that represents these healthcare professionals.
All have been summoned to the doors of the Cabildos of El Hierro, La Palma and Tenerife, to the Torre del Conde in La Gomera and at the headquarters of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, we also invite the population of the province to join this tribute to the palm town.
