SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep 19 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Almost 500 tourists who were staying in some hotels on La Palma have had to be relocated as a result of the volcanic eruption that began this afternoon in the municipality of El Paso.
This has been reported by the president of Ashotel, Jorge Marichal, who has indicated that they have activated the crisis protocol to be able to face this situation and ensure that the inconvenience to customers is the least possible.
Ashotel has made itself available to the authorities of La Palma and the Canary Islands to collaborate in everything in its power in the face of the emergency generated by the eruption of the volcano in the Las Manchas neighborhood, in the municipality of El Paso.
The vice president of Ashotel in La Palma, Carlos García Sicilia, has been in direct and regular contact with the Councilor for Tourism of the Cabildo, Raúl Camacho, for days and more intensively since the beginning of the volcanic explosion this afternoon.
Likewise, it is in contact with different representatives of various tour operators that work on the island to coordinate the official information and pass it on to its associates.
Precisely, to collect all the data, tomorrow morning a meeting is scheduled at the Island Corporation to collaborate in the organization of those resources that are necessary and to transfer the official information in a timely and accurate manner.
Ashotel has wanted to convey a message of encouragement to the entire palm tree society and contribute to maintaining calm, always attentive to all the indications of the official protocols in a situation like this.
