SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep 19 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Since last midnight on the island of La Palma, the 24-hour monitoring volcanic surveillance network of the National Geographic Institute (IGN) has registered a total of 88 earthquakes with magnitudes between 1.2 and 3.3 on the Richter scale.
The largest of the earthquakes, which occurred at 07:28, had a magnitude of 3.3 and occurred south of the municipality of El Paso. This event was felt by the population with an intensity of III-IV in El Paso, Los Llanos de Aridane, Tazacorte, Breña Alta, Fuencaliente and Breña Baja.
Also felt by the population with an intensity of III was an earthquake that occurred at 06.07 hours southwest of El Paso and another of 3.2 that occurred at 08.12 hours south of the same town and that was felt with an intensity of III.
This Saturday a total of 173 earthquakes of up to 3.2 were recorded, of which three were felt by the population with intensities of II-III, II and III. The largest of them occurred at 04.26 hours and was felt in Los Llanos de Aridane, El Paso, Tazacorte and Villa de Mazo.
