The Deputy of the Common, Rafael Yanes, has confirmed that he paid the sanction imposed by the Local Police of Güímar for not complying, on May 15, with the COVID measures by being present at a meeting where the capacity limit was exceeded in a private home in El Socorro, shortly after participating in the inauguration of Carla Antonelli Street, formerly known as El Cardón, in the historic village of La Virgen.
But not only was the former socialist mayor of Güímar sanctioned with 500 euros (300, if paid without recourse), but the two agents of the Local Police who moved to the house, after the complaint of the neighbor of the same and coordinator of the PP, Víctor González, raised the report and sanctioned another ten people who at that time were inside the property, while, outside it, Carla Antonelli chatted with some neighbors.
Among those ten people were the then mayor and today the first deputy mayor, Airam Puerta; the Councilor for Security and Local Police, Cándido Gómez, and the Socialist MEP, Juan Fernando López Aguilar, who have not yet been notified of the sanction, supposedly by order of the mayor, according to Víctor González, who also adds that “The Police wanted me to put my names and surnames in the complaint and since then I have only received threats and coercion.”
They have received the sanction certificate, according to the complainant, the owners of the house, the brothers Gonzalo and Pedro Damián Hernández, as well as their mother and an aunt, as well as Laly González, general director of Educational Infrastructures of the Government of the Canary Islands .
This newspaper wanted to know the version of the sanctioned, but those who have responded affirm that nothing has been communicated to them, something that contrasts with the payment made by the Common deputy, who explained what happened, according to his version: “After After the inauguration of Carla Antonelli Street in El Socorro, in the middle of May, I went to a friend’s house to greet his mother, who had recently been widowed. Three people with masks went up to the roof at all times. When we went out, we saw two policemen whom we greeted without them asking for our identification. A few days ago, three months later, I received a sanction because the agent affirms that, counting the two ladies who were in the room, it was a meeting that exceeded the amount allowed at that time (6). I decided to pay it due to the legal impossibility of being able to contradict the testimony of a policeman ”.
