SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep 17 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Minister of Science and Innovation, Diana Morant, will meet with researchers on La Palma to inquire about the seismic situation that has been taking place for a week in the area of the Cumbre Vieja volcano. The meeting will take place this Sunday at 7:55 p.m. at La Palma Airport.
The General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands, in application of the Special Plan for Civil Protection and Emergency Assistance due to volcanic risk (Pevolca), keeps the island on a ‘yellow traffic light’ due to volcanic risk after verifying that seismic activity decreases and the deformation of the ground slows down.
The following day, the minister will visit Tenerife to attend the annual meeting of the Governing Council of this research center at the headquarters of the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC), in La Laguna.
