SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep 16 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Governing Council, at the proposal of the Ministry of Ecological Transition, Fight against Climate Change and Territorial Planning of the Government of the Canary Islands, has accepted this Thursday the delegation of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, through the Autonomous Commission for Environmental Assessment , of the competence for the strategic environmental evaluation of the minor modifications of the General Urban Planning Plan (PGO) of San Bartolomé de Tirajana referring to the urban planning of the plot N Playa del Inglés and in the area of the polygon T-4 El Tablero .
Law 4/2017, Land and Protected Natural Spaces of the Canary Islands (LSENPC) establishes that the approval, substantial modification and adaptation of the instruments of territorial, environmental and urban planning will be subject to the procedure of environmental evaluation of plans and programs, in the terms contemplated in the basic state legislation, and that the city councils can delegate, in the regional environmental body or the insular environmental body, the competence of strategic environmental evaluation of the municipal management instruments.
Decree Law 15/2020, on urgent measures to promote the primary, energy, tourism and territorial sectors of the Canary Islands, gave a new wording to the LSENPC, enabling the possibility of direct delegation of competence for the environmental evaluation of instruments or projects in the regional environmental body.
