SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep 16 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government of the Canary Islands has agreed to extend until October 31 the hours of the nightlife sector in those establishments that, voluntarily, decide to require the COVID certificate to access the interior of their premises.
In the press conference after the Governing Council, the Deputy Minister of the Presidency, Antonio Olivera, indicated that the Canarian Executive has accepted this proposal made by the sector itself, which requested to be able to exercise the provisions of article 24.3 of the decree law of measures covid.
Thus, what the nightlife associations of both provinces have proposed is to extend the hours, provided that the COVID certificate is required for access to their interiors to reduce the risk of contagion.
Thus, in front of the provisions of the decree law, the hours of nightlife on those islands in level 1 and 2 are extended until 04.00 hours; on level 3, until 03:00 a.m., and on level 4, until 01:00 a.m.
Antonio Olivera added that this measure may be extended depending on the results and will enter into force once it is published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) tomorrow, Friday, September 17.
Olivera also stressed that it is a “relevant step”, insofar as it is the first time that the Government exercises the power contemplated within the decree law, such as extending the hours of an activity, always conditional on the voluntary requirement of the certificate covid.
