Laura Esther Castro Hernandez He was born in San Cristóbal de La Laguna. She has a degree in Tourism and a degree in Journalism. Currently, she is a doctoral student in Law, Society and Tourism by the University of La Laguna. Among his extensive training, he has a course in air operations technique, as well as a master’s degree in Information Sciences at the same academic institution and another in Marketing and Digital Communication IMF from the Camilo José Cela University in Madrid.
His professional career has been linked, mainly, to corporate communication and tourism. In this last sector, he has worked both in the public sphere and in the private sector, acting as a tourist guide and managing the communication of companies and events related to the promotion of the destination. He has also worked as a teacher at the University of La Laguna, giving lectures related to sustainable tourism. Her connection to the sports field led her, previously to the position she now holds, to act as insular director of Sports in the Cabildo de Tenerife.
Director of Agriculture
Cayetano Jose Silva Hernandez, the new insular director of Agriculture, is a native of San Juan de La Rambla. He is a career official of the Ministry of Education of the Canary Islands Government for the specialty of Economics, for which he has served as a teacher in Baccalaureate for adults. He has a degree in Economic and Business Sciences from the University of La Laguna and has served as accounting manager in different public and private companies. It also has a degree in communication in Spanish Sign Language. He has been the insular director of Security and Emergencies of the Cabildo de Tenerife and, previously, he has also been having as mayor and councilor for Personnel, Citizen Participation, Finance, Historical Heritage and Tourism in the representative in the Tenerife Tax Consortium, San Juan de The Rambla.
While, Angel Luis Peña Peña, the new insular director of Sports, was born in Santa Cruz de La Palma. His academic and professional career has always been linked to sport. His work as a Physical Education teacher and tutor at Colegio Escuelas Pías Tenerife stands out, with 23 years of experience. In addition, he was coordinator of Sports and Extracurricular Activities of the aforementioned educational center for 18 years and external municipal sports technician of the City Council of La Matanza de Acentejo since 2016. He has been coordinator of La Palma Experience.
Regarding his training, he is a specialist teacher in Physical Education from the University of La Laguna, graduated in Psychopedagogy, with a specialty in School Psychology and Child-adolescent Psychopathology, and a mention in Sports Psychology. In addition, he is a senior technician in Sports Entities Management. He is currently studying the Comprehensive Safety Training Program for Sports Managers and Technicians of Aquatic Centers and Swimming Pools, organized by the Royal Spanish Swimming Federation.
