SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep 15 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Governing Council of the Cabildo de Tenerife approved today the appointments of three new island directors who join the organization chart of the Island Corporation. Thus, Laura Castro will occupy the Insular Directorate of Tourism; Cayetano Silva, the Insular Directorate of Agriculture, and Ángel Pérez, the Insular Directorate of Sports.

Laura Esther Castro Hernández was born in San Cristóbal de La Laguna. She has a degree in Tourism and a degree in Journalism. Currently, she is a doctoral student in Law, Society and Tourism from the University of La Laguna. Among his extensive training, he has a course in air operations technique, as well as a Master in Information Sciences at the same academic institution and another in Marketing and Digital Communication IMF from the Camilo José Cela University in Madrid.

His professional career has been linked, mainly, to corporate communication and tourism. In this last sector, he has worked, both in the public sphere and in private companies, acting as a tourist guide and managing the communication of companies and events related to the promotion of the destination.

He has also worked as a teacher at the University of La Laguna, giving lectures related to sustainable tourism. Her connection to the sports field led her, previously to the position she now holds, to act as insular director of Sports in the Cabildo de Tenerife.

Cayetano José Silva Hernández is a native of San Juan de La Rambla. He is a career official of the Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands for the specialty of Economics, for which he has served as a teacher in Baccalaureate for adults.

He has a degree in Economic and Business Sciences from the University of La Laguna and has served as accounting manager in different public and private companies. It also has a degree in communication in Spanish Sign Language.

In the course of his career, he has been the insular director of Security and Emergencies of the Cabildo de Tenerife and, previously, he has also been mayor and councilor for Personnel, Citizen Participation, Finance, Historical Heritage and Tourism in the representative in the Consortium of Tributes of Tenerife, San Juan de La Rambla.

Ángel Luis Pérez Peña was born in Santa Cruz de la Palma. His academic and professional career has always been linked to sport and throughout it his work as a Physical Education teacher and tutor at Colegio Escuelas Pías Tenerife, with 23 years of experience, stands out; Coordinator of Sports and Extracurricular Activities of the aforementioned educational center for 18 years; External municipal sports technician of the La Matanza de Acentejo City Council since 2016. He has been coordinator of the La Palma Experience Project and organizer of the 2014 FIBA ​​World Cup Gran Canaria Men’s World Cup Promotion Event.

Regarding his training, he is a specialist teacher in Physical Education from the University of La Laguna; graduated in Psychopedagogy, the University of La Laguna and the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), with a specialty in School Psychology and Child-adolescent Psychopathology and a mention in Sports Psychology. In addition, he is a senior technician in Sports Entities Management.

He is currently studying the Comprehensive Safety Training Program for Sports Managers and Technicians of Aquatic Centers and Swimming Pools, organized by the Royal Spanish Swimming Federation (RFEN) and FADGE.
