SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep 15 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Minister of Tourism of the Government of the Canary Islands, Yaiza Castilla, has advanced this Wednesday that the plan for the adaptation of natural pools promoted by her department will not be carried out as a result of the “high social protest” – it has more than 16,000 signatures in the change.org platform.
“It is not a priority project for this Ministry, I have left it parked, it does not have a budget in this regard,” he commented in statements to ‘Radio Club Tenerife’ collected by Europa Press.
Castilla has commented that the decision to promote this initiative now rests with the councils, recalling that the council of Tenerife, for example, already took out in the past, in the time of the CC government, the plan ‘Tenerife and the Sea’.
The master plan, promoted by the General Directorate of Tourism Infrastructure, provided for the adaptation for use as bathing areas of a total of 117 natural pools of the archipelago out of a set of 492 documented by the Executive.
