
The hydrocarbon residues detected almost two weeks ago in the northeast and east coast of Tenerife they continue to be an unknown for the population. And it is that the city councils of these municipalities have decided to close their beaches to the bathroom as a precaution.
As collected this Friday COPE Canary Islands, Sea captaincy of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, dependent on the General Directorate of the Merchant Marine, indicates that it has not detected any stain in the waters near the Island.
“Given the news published in recent days reporting episodes of oil pollution on different beaches on the coast of the island of Tenerife, we can say that in recent days no stain has been detected in the sea,” they explain.
It is the competent body for the investigation and sanction of polluting discharges into the sea from ships that it carries out through Maritime Rescue. In this regard, it points out that in recent days inspections have been carried out without detecting stains in the sea.
