The performance will take place in the streets Valdés, Cervera, Magallanes, Nava, Oquendo, Churruca, Pizarro, Bazán, Antequera, Robledo; on Avenida Colón, and on the section of Calle Juan Sebastián Elcano that connects with La Nea beach. It also contemplates the resurfacing of all the aforementioned streets, included in a reprint at the project worth 306,538 euros for improvements.
In practice, this work supposes the total renovation of water pipes from the main nucleus of the municipality’s coastline, in which more than 3,000 people live permanently, to which should be added a very large floating population, especially in summer.
The councilor from Rosario stresses that “the commitment of this government to improve the water cycle and to achieve maximum efficiency in our networks has been demonstrated since the neighbors gave us responsibility for government tasks in the last term.”
In this sense, the first mayor recalls that “there are multiple leaks that occur in a already obsolete hydraulic network and it was necessary to dispense with patches and emergency repairs and change, once and for all, the water supply network.
The deteriorated water network of Radazul Bajo, as a result of its age, its irregular layout and its own use, made its complete renovation advisable. The intervention will include the installation of a new drinking water network and the replacement of the asphalt layer of the roads as it was damaged due to the opening of ditches, as well as the replacement of paving of the sidewalks since the tertiary networks, which they will also be renewed, they run under them.
This work, awarded to the UTE formed by the companies AMC Construcciones y Contratas, Excavaciones Bahíllo and Constructora de Proyectos y Obra Civil 2012, will be developed in eleven streets of Radazul Bajo and eight kilometers of pipes will be changed.
The project of the work will redesign, replace and control the operation of the water transport network of about 8,000 meters in length and that serves 1,050 subscribers who consume an average of 16,543 cubic meters of water every two months, which, in summer, is increases to 33,938 cubic meters. In more detail, the initiative contemplates the renovation of the sections of the potable water supply network to Radazul Bajo, still in service, executed in galvanized steel when the first streets of the urbanization were built (Valdés, Churruca, Oquendo, Antequera, Bazán and Cervera), which have significant deficiencies in terms of the resistance of the material, which is “in an advanced state of deterioration and oxidation, drastically reducing its bearing and transport capacity.”
Network reform
The route of the network that currently crosses, “in an inappropriate way”, will also be reformed inside plots of the first private urbanizations: Las Acacias, Siglo XXI, Vistazul and Los Girasoles. The current layout of the network supposes “a high risk of leaks and breaks, involving high repair costs given the complexity of the ignorance of where these pipes run”.
In addition, the main pipeline, installed under Juan Sebastián Elcano street, will be optimized, whose regulation valve chamber currently only provides service for the fire intakes, the supply of the Atlanta building and the irrigation of the Guadamojete park and, therefore, it is being underused by not connecting with Pizarro, Magallanes, Valdés and Colón avenues. With the new work it will go on to provide service in its entirety.
