Bermúdez recalled that “this is a project that we present to the residents of the Santa María del Mar area from the beginning and we began drafting it in October 2018 and that today [ayer] some works that put it into use culminate ”.

For his part, Javier Rivero stated that “it will be a park with a lot of interior life, since there will be programming for everyone during the week, such as directed sports activities and Calisthenics (Monday to Friday, from 4.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.), relaxation (Tuesday and Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) and Latin aerobics (Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.). A program of activities “that will be operational from next Monday, with a duration of nine weeks, in principle,” he said.

In addition, it has tables and benches to favor small gatherings such as meetings, birthdays, etc.; sports and stay area for young people; benches, bins and drinking fountains; children’s play area for children under four years of age and another for those over this age, where multigenerational interaction will be favored and located to take advantage of the shade generated by the Indian laurels, and another with a cushioning pavement for yoga, tai- chi, pilates and the like.

It also has a living space in which benches and tables have been installed, taking advantage of the shade of the flamboyants, which invites the elderly to gather for the gathering and card game, dominoes, and so on. Likewise, it has another one with asphalt agglomerate pavement, which allows access to all physical conditions and which, being completely flat, will favor the transit of parents with children’s cars, skates and small bicycles.

Sports and pets

There is a multipurpose area that has a playing surface of about 1,150 square meters that will accommodate play-sport areas such as calisthenics, and a multisport court (futsal, basketball, volleyball, etc.). And an outdoor exercise area for adults with an area equipped with exercise equipment.

Finally, there is another large area dedicated to people who have pets and who, therefore, have the need to take them out to exercise. Thinking about them, precisely, two canine exercise areas called AEC area are enabled, one for small dogs and another for larger ones, areas that will be equipped with elements to practice Agility, each one of them having a surface of about 254 square meters.
