The mayor of Los Silos, Macarena Fuentes (CC), was in charge of opening the event and introducing Carmen Luz Baso, who had words full of memories and experiences, historical aspects, traditions that are maintained over time and some that have been turned off with the passage of time. He valued the importance and historical significance of the silk trade in Los Silos as a place of reference on the island. Agriculture, livestock, the figure of the seamstresses and crafts, as great bastions of the socio-economic development of this town.

The program of activities, organized by the La Luz 2021 Festival Commission, continues in this great week of the Los Silos patron saint festivities and will last until Sunday, September 12, the day of the Octave of the La Luz and La Luz Festivities. celebration of the Eucharist of the Holy Christ of Mercy. The different activities follow the security protocols and capacity limitations required by the health authorities as a measure to prevent Covid-19 infections.
