This work has allowed Afedes to have participated since its creation in 1999 in more than 4,865 job placements of job seekers who have been part of some of the 290 projects undertaken by this entity whose headquarters is at number 1 of the street Antonio Pérez Díaz.
The director of Afedes, Catalina de Lorenzo-Cáceres y Farizo, stresses that «in the face of this situation of a coronavirus pandemic we have adapted our services to the population, mainly offering online training and more intensive telephone assistance and also through new channels such as our social networks and our email and whatssap service, with the aim of having a more direct contact with all our users ». In addition, Afedes maintains its involvement with local businesses and highlights the importance of the #YoComercioLocal campaign, “whose objective was to help them get closer to the population and interact with a clientele who could not leave their homes.”
“We have had the opportunity to be part of a national project to help companies and entrepreneurs who have experienced difficulties due to Covid-19, with the collaboration of the Youth Business Spain Foundation and thanks to funding from Endesa. We have already distributed the first in non-repayable aid and granted microcredits to several companies. We have strengthened more stable ties with local administrations and we have promoted the promotion of entrepreneurship as an option for labor integration ”, highlights the director. The 9.71 out of 10 awarded by the Transparency Commissioner of the Government of the Canary Islands to the entity is “yet another achievement of which we are very proud,” concludes Catalina de Lorenzo-Cáceres.
Social Value Award
Afedes, based in Icod de los Vinos, received the award for Social Value from the Cepsa Foundation thanks to its project Afedes by your side, which in the midst of the pandemic was in charge of the delivery of food aid and of giving classes for school reinforcement and information technology for boys and girls from families at risk of social exclusion. | ED
